Pepe (PEPE) has rallied by 3% on the daily charts after Elon Musk posted a meme of the frog smoking a cigarette on X. The memecoin is currently outperforming the top 10 crypto projects by market cap on the daily charts. Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Ripple’s XRP, on the other hand, have risen by 0.4%, 1.1%, and 0.9%, in the same time frame. pic.twitter.com/QyKLzXez3L — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 19, 2025 Will PEPE Breakout? What’s the deal with Zora, Base, and content coins?

Coinbase-sponsored second layer blockchain Base caused a stir on Wednesday when, despite repeatedly claiming that it had no intention of launching a token, it launched a token. Confusingly, however, depending on who you listen to, it either didn’t launch a token at all, or it has launched something called a “content coin.” BASEISFOREVERYONE was announced by Base via an X post and was billed as being for “coiners, collectors, traders, builders, creators, artists, writers, musicians, visionaries, sports fans, podcasters, travelers, DeFi users, students, and so much more.” Unfortunately, the memecoin crashed 88% within hours. What’s peculiar, however, is that Coinbase itself is adamant that it didn’t actually launch a token or memecoin. This, it says, is due to the token launching on Zora. Zora is a copy of Instagram that utilises Base’s layer 2 chain to tokenize every post users make, meaning they can subsequently be traded and sold .  A Coinbase spok...

Scam mers have hacked the X (formerly Twitter) account of Microsoft India and are reportedly impersonating GameStop pumper Keith Gill, aka Roaring Kitty , to share crypto wallet drainers.  Late on Monday, the Microsoft India account started reposting videos from Roaring Kitty’s account to its 211,000 followers while also replying to individual accounts with fraudulent crypto airdrops.  The replies start with “In honor of our return, we decided to launch Presale….” before sharing a link to a fake Roaring Kitty website the Scam mers claim will allow users to buy GameStop (GME) crypto in a pre-sale.  To help the scammer’s credibility, the account also boasts a golden checkmark that declares the account ‘official.’ According to Bleeping Computer, anyone linking their crypto wallet to the fraudulent site will lose all of their funds to the scammer’s wallet drainer. The scammers include a picture of a kitten playing with some yarn for good measure.   The scammer...

Reddit mods fired over suspected MOON token insider trading

Moderators responsible for overseeing Reddit’s largest crypto forum have been fired amid allegations that they sold off the subreddit’s native MOON token minutes before the platform canceled its crypto rewards program. That’s according to CoinDesk and a message from the r/Cryptocurrency team that read, “All the moderators who sold Moons before the announcement have already been removed from the mod team.” MOON could previously be distributed, traded, or spent as part of Reddit’s blockchain-based community points program. However, it was announced last Tuesday that the program was to shut down by November 8.   Reddit admins reportedly informed moderators in charge of the r/Cryptocurrency thread of the upcoming cancellation one hour before its announcement. Cryptosleuths claim that, within the hour, three moderators dumped their holdings before the news broke publicly .   1/ Three @CCMOD_ moderators dumped $MOON in advance via #inside information from @Reddit admins. pic.twitt...
